In an article out earlier this week (http://www.courierpress.com/news/2012/apr/21/no-headline—gl__home_improvement_scams/), a Henderson County Sheriff is warning homeowners to beware of home repair scams throughout the county. The county has been investigating everything from alleged termite infestations to mold.

Homeowners in the area are reporting that scam artists are telling homeowners that they have full blown termite infestations and then spraying the alleged infestation with water or watered down chemicals. Linda Webb aka The Fraud Dog, leading fraud expert, says watch out for that home contractor indicating that you have tiny little pests eating up your home. It is always best to do your due diligence, and get multiple quotes from different contractors. Make sure that the “infestation” trying to eat your assets isn’t the fraudster attempting to take your wallet instead!
