
Fraudsters are getting creative!
What’s the latest?… A scam involving game pieces for the popular McDonald Monopoly Game. Yes, while you are eating at one of your favorite fast food places the fraudster is also hoping to trick you. Fraudsters love to play on our “winning spirit” by thinking we can win big money. Your first clue, if it was that easy everyone would be doing it.
Don’t be fooled into thinking you can ‘pass GO’ and go directly to the winners circle to collect your money. The fraudster looks for people who willing to fork over some money to buy one of the rare game pieces. Never pay for a “free game piece”, as this is the bait the fraudster is using to hook you into their trap says Linda Webb.

“As with anything that is popular and deals with money and prizes, the people looking to perpetuate fraud come out of the woodwork to take advantage of people’s greed and lack of knowledge. If you are playing the McDonald’s Monopoly game for fun, be aware that there are a number of scams out there. While I’m writing this in regards to the 2013 game, these scams have been going around for years and will be just as relevant in 2014, 2015 and beyond. Here are some of the more common scams that are going around that target the McDonald’s Monopoly games.”
